Edinburgh University Football Match Jersey Design and Manufacturing Project

1. Project Background
In 2019, as a professional sportswear manufacturer, we were commissioned by the University of Edinburgh in the UK to design and produce team-exclusive jerseys for its football matches. The project needs to integrate university culture, team spirit and high-performance requirements, and finally use green (symbolizing campus nature and vitality) and white (representing academic purity) as the main colors to create jerseys that are both visually recognizable and functional.

2. Design Concept
Color and Symbolism

Forest Green: Inspired by the natural landscape around the University of Edinburgh, it reflects the team's tenacity and vitality.

Pure White: Echoes the academic elements in the school emblem, conveying simplicity and professionalism.

Customized school emblem and number: Breathable heat transfer technology is used to ensure durability.

Scottish elements: subtle plaid patterns are incorporated into the cuffs to pay tribute to local culture.

Functional optimization

Highly breathable mesh fabric: three-dimensional cutting is used under the armpits and back to improve heat dissipation performance.

Elastic stitching: four-way stretch fabric is used on the side seams to adapt to high-intensity exercise.

3. Manufacturing process
Environmentally friendly materials: The main fabric is recycled polyester fiber, which is in line with the sustainable development concept of the University of Edinburgh.

Seamless fitting technology: Reduce seam friction and avoid skin discomfort during exercise.

Washability and color fastness: Pass multiple washing tests to ensure long-term bright colors.

4. Results and feedback
Delivery results: A total of 200 sets of game uniforms were produced (100 sets for home and away games), delivered on time and tracked throughout the logistics.

Team evaluation: Players praised the jerseys for being "light and breathable, without feeling restrained during the game", and the contrasting design of green and white is highly recognizable on the field.

School recognition: The project has become an official cooperation case of the Sports Department of the University of Edinburgh, and will be expanded to other departments for uniform customization in the future.
